The council carried item 21, "Trans Pride Australia Proposal for Solidarity Crossing", unanimously. The chair moved the item with amendments.
The chair said the report came out of an earlier motion by Councillor Atkins, and thanked Trans Pride Australia for starting the project. The chair said the proposal is about greater visibility for trans and gender diverse people in the Inner West.
Councillor Atkins spoke for the motion and referred to recent offensive graffiti across the council area that targeted businesses and organisations that openly support diverse communities.
